Run your first QuickFlow

This workflow uses the implemented Postgres connection path. Exact fields are provided by the connector property schema in the dashboard and API reference.

Prerequisites

  • An active organization and workspace
  • Permission to use secret vaults and create connections, clusters, and QuickFlows
  • Reachable Postgres source or destination details
  • A permitted node type and available cluster capacity

1. Store credentials safely

Create or select a Secret Vault, then create the required secret. Use the secret reference in connection configuration; never paste credentials into documentation, descriptions, or logs.

2. Create and validate a connection

Open VegaFlow → Connections, choose the PostgreSQL connector, name the connection, provide its configuration and secret references, and run validation. Save only after validation succeeds. See the PostgreSQL connector guide for both direct password and SSH-tunnel authentication.

3. Create a cluster

Open Clusters and choose a node type. Set minimum nodes to at least one and maximum nodes greater than or equal to the minimum. If auto-stop is enabled, provide a positive auto-stop time. Configure auto-scale or auto-resume only when that lifecycle matches the workload.

4. Create a QuickFlow

Open QuickFlows and select source/destination connections plus the execution cluster. Choose the streams and columns to include or exclude. Use snapshot mode for a complete read, or configure incremental cursor mode with valid cursor fields and ordering. Enable schema evolution only when the destination workflow should accept it.

5. Start a manual run

Save the QuickFlow, start a manual run, and open its run details. Confirm the connection remains valid and the cluster is ready while the run advances through its lifecycle.

6. Schedule after a successful run

Create a schedule only after the manual run proves the resource configuration. Review runs and schedules before pausing, resuming, updating, or deleting it.
